General
- • Do you use all Australian ingredients?
-
First stop for sourcing our ingredients is always Australia!
- Most of our ingredients including oats, soy, corn, sorghum, sugar and golden syrup are locally sourced. However, we do sometimes have to source our ingredients from overseas when there’s no other option. That’s often due to the weather conditions and availability that can make 100% Australian-made products practically impossible.
Have a look where some of our major ingredients come from:
- Corn/Maize Flour - Leeton, NSW, Australia
- Oats - Australia
- Soy Beans - Australia
- Rice Flour - Australia & Pakistan
- Psyllium - India. It’s the only viable and high quality commercial supplier of the psyllium husk.
- Golden Syrup - QLD, Australia
- Sugar - Australia

- • Does Freedom Foods use Genetically Modified ingredients?
-
GM Free & GE – What is the difference?
GM Free
- According to the Food Standards Code of Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ), foods that do not have any detectable Genetically Modified Organisms (in real speak this means proteins) are classified as GM Free.
- Freedom Foods complies with the FSANZ Food Code in relation to the labelling of GM food.
- Under this code, all Freedom Foods products are GM Free.
- For more info, please go to http://www.foodstandards.gov.au
GE
- We believe that our consumers who care about Genetically Modified foods, want to ensure that not only do the products that they buy have no detectable GM proteins, but that they have been made from “the seed to the supermarket” with no contact whatsoever with GM ingredients (such as stock feed or oils).
- So Freedom Foods has put in place an Identity Preservation Program that ensures full traceability of the sources of all ingredients used in the making of our products.
- This is currently a work in progress as we work with our supplies on reviewing every single ingredient that we source and use in our products.
- • Are all of your products nut free now?
-
- Many of the Freedom Foods Cereals and biscuits are now nut free as we are producing them in a dedicated nut free factory.
- Check the packaging for specific information – if a product is nut free it will be clearly communicated on the front of the packaging.
- Some of our products are still made in other factories where nuts may be processed so at this stage not all of the Freedom Foods products are nut free.
- If in any doubt, give us a call on Freecall 1800 646 231.
